Daniel Cheng is a Boston native who has been working in marketing and design for over 18 years in Shanghai and Singapore, and is the founder and CEO of the award-winning hospitality, travel, and tourism focused digital agency MDS Collective (formerly known as Metric Design Studio).
MDS has served over 200 local and multinational clients, and holds over twenty industry awards. Their diverse range of clients have spanned from Visit Qatar to Etihad Airways to Marriott International. By fully understanding the nuances of the East Asian markets, including Mainland China, South Korea, and Japan, MDS is able to deliver a world-class Service-as-a-Product.
Daniel is a Campaign Asia-Pacific 40 Under 40 honoree and has been featured in top industry publications including the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Campaign, and Branding in Asia. He is known as an industry leader for digital marketing in Asia and speaks at various conferences around the world: ITB Asia, WTM London, Travel Meet Asia, Abu Dhabi BRIDGE Summit, Hertz APAC Summit, and more.
Daniel holds an MBA from Imperial Business School, a Bsc from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and Fulbright Fellowship and Imperial Business Scholarship. He is also an accredited film producer, and holds a Producer's Certificate from UCLA's School of Theater, Film and Television.
He speaks English, Cantonese, and Mandarin fluently. Daniel spends his free time playing with his rescue dogs.
